Weekly Recommendations Week 5

Its that time again! Here are my favourite things to share with you this week.

Number 1:

TGI Fridays Sesame Chicken Strips. These are available as a starter and as a main course. Well next time I go I am having both, they are that good! They are literally the nicest chicken I have probably ever had – or can remember having. And didn’t even order them, my hubby did. I had to keep pinching them off his plate! They are tossed in TGI’s “Legendary Jack Daniels® Glaze, topped with sesame seeds and chili flakes and served with crispy fries. They also come with a gorgeous dipping sauce which I’m pretty sure is the same Jack Daniels ® sauce they are tossed in. They are truly truly delicious and moreish. The main meal is a huge portion, no fries needed!

Number 2:

Warburtons Giant Crumpets. Yes another food item! I love crumpets and these are massive! They make a lovely quick breakfast along with a cup of my favourite Jasmine Green Tea. They do need toasting for a bit longer than the usual size, but when they are done and smothered in melting butter they are heaven.

They crumpets are an average of 105g each and 179kcal, 0.8g fat (0.2g saturate), 36g carbohydrate (oops) (1.7g of which are sugars), 2g Fibre, 5.9g protein (thumbs up) and 1.55g salt.

Number 3:

Tempur Comfort Pillow. We recently purchased a new mattress from Dreams Weybridge, and at the same time bought 2 new pillows. We weren’t planning on buying them but when the sales assistant brought them over to try out we were hooked straight away! We got the firm pillows, they are also available in medium I think. I suffer with a lot of neck and back pain and were told these pillows along with our new Hyde & Sleep K Hybrid Plus Raspberry Firm matteress, would help to alleviate some of this and facilitate a much better nights sleep. And he could not have been more right! We started using these pillows (1 each) straight away, even though the mattress would not be delivered for another 6 days, and I promise you I had the best night sleep I’d had for quite some time. My head and neck were supported at the perfect angle and the pillow was amazingly comfortable. They are pricey at £85 each but they have a 3 year guarantee and they actually help so we did not mind paying this amount. I buy new pillows about every 6 months as I can never find any that are good enough so its not such a high price after all. The cover of the pillow can be removed and is machine washable.

For those of you who are interested our Hyde & Sleep Hybrid Plus Raspberry Firm King Size Mattress was £699 and comes with a 10 year guarantee, and is the best mattress I have ever slept on. That combined with the new Tempur pillow has definitely reduced the pain and discomfort in my neck and back during the night and I do sleep better, its amazing! I can’t recommend Dreams Weybridge and our sales assistant Jamie enough. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and we were definitely sold the perfect products.

Number 4:

Tili Ocean Vibes Beauty Box. I love beauty boxes and at one point had three different subscriptions running at the same time! But I stopped them when we were getting married to use the money for wedding related bits and bobs (like laser hair removal, hair do’s, nails, lashes etc). I saw the Tili beauty box on an Instagram story and thought I would give it a go as it is subscription free, which appeals to me because I am not obligated to pay for a box every month. Although after purchasing this one I am for sure getting another one (or more!).

The Tili box is available on www.qvcuk.com, the Ocean Vibes box is £20 and includes the following products:

~ 1 x Philip Kingsley Pomegranate and Cassis Elasticizer (40ml) NEW - a brand new warm and uplifting fragrance combining top notes of orange and cassis, a heart of pomegranate, nutmeg and ginger, and a base of vanilla, patchouli and cedar. This pre-shampoo treatment is designed to deliver a rush of moisture inside the hair cuticle and increase manageability, smoothing the outer layer of the hair shaft and sealing in moisture. Suitable for all hair types

I can’t wait to use this, I used to use the original Elaticizer and it is amazing! Also this new Pomegranate and Cassis smells lovely. Full size 75ml is £21 / 150ml is £34, available at www.philipkingsley.co.uk, www.feelunique.com, among others.

~ 1 x REN Ready Steady Glow AHA Tonic (50ml) a liquid exfoliator developed to help slough away dead skin and encourage a dewy, hydrated glow. Enriched with lactic acid, willow bark extract and azelaic acid

I am looking forward to trying this product, but I am currently doing a test of 2 other Glow Tonics – look out for the blog on that Pixi Glow Tonic vs Lacura Healthy Glow…coming soon! REN Ready Steady Glow full size 250ml is £25 and available at www.renskincare.com, www.feelunique.com, www.johnlewis.co.uk and others.

~ 1 x Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil (10ml) this luscious cream-oil treatment combines the hydration of a moisturising cream with the protection of an oil. Infused with jojoba seed oil, coconut oil and perilla seed oil

I love Elemis products they are a really great luxury skin care brand, not something I would neccesarily buy very often as it is a pricey brand, but this product is lovely. It not only makes my skin feel soft and hydrated but it has a beautiful scent, it smells expensive and is very luxurious. Full size 30ml is £49 so this would be a treat to buy this for myself. Available at www.elemis.com, www.feelunique.com and others.

~ 1 x Tili Detangler Mini Brush with stiff yet flexible bristles, perfect for combing wet hair

When I saw this brush in the box I had my doubts that it would be any good for my mane! And when I opened the box I had wet just washed hair, which is a real pain (literally) to get a brush through, my new Tangle Teezer Wet Detangler brush is brilliant and manages to get through my over bleached hair! But I was very pleasantly surprised by this little wonder brush! It made short work of my tangled locks and I was definitely impressed! Size isn’t everything after all!

~ 1 x Benefit They’re Real Mascara (3g) a water-resistant, jet-black formula with a specially-designed brush that lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts and separates the look of your lashes

I was more than pleased to get this product in the box as this is my favourite go-to mascara that I use all the time, and it’s good to have the mini size to chuck in a weekend bag or handbag when I am in a hurry and have to do my makeup on the go. Full size 8.5g £21.50 available at www.benefitcosmetics.com, www.cultbeauty.co.uk who also sell the travel size mini at £10.50 – half the price of this entire box!, and others.

~ 1 x Ultrasun Face SPF30* (25ml) for use on the face, décolleté and hands, this fast-absorbing, lightweight formula offers heavy-duty UVA and UVB protection, with a non-greasy texture. Perfect for very sensitive skin.

(*Please refer to the sun account to make sure you use the right level SPF for your skin and do not exceed the amount of time you can spend in the sun).

I have used this product a couple of times both with and without makeup on top and am impressed with how well and how quickly this absorbed in to the skin, there is no scent which is good as most sun lotion has quite a strong scent. Looking online the price of this product does vary depending on which website you go to but is between £14.89-£20 available at www.lookfantastic.com, www.justmylook.com and others.

~ 1 x INC.redible Glazin Over Lip Gloss (3.4ml) in one of two surprise shades, you'll receive one of the following - Daily Inspo (caramel-pink nude) or More Love Less Likes (warm rose nude). This high shine, high pigment gloss gives a non-sticky, wet-look finish.

I love this lip gloss! I couldn’t wait to try it out and have worn it so many times since I got this box. The shade I received is More Love Less Likes and is a warm rose nude. It’s a beautiful colour and really versatile, great for day or night makeup looks. I am pretty sure this is a full size product and is usually £8 available at www.nailsinc.com, www.cultbeauty.co.uk and others.

~ 1 x Rituals Ayurveda Shower Foam (50ml) with Indian rose and sweet almond oil, this luxurious foaming shower gel cleanses you skin, leaving your it feeling revitalised and gently scented

I was excited to receive this product as I have tried the Rituals of Hammam one in the past and it was lovely, gorgeous scent and left my skin feeling really soft. This Ritual of Ayurveda smells divine! I haven’t used it yet but I can’t wait! I have a spa trip coming up and will be taking this one with me as it reminds me of luxurious pampering spa products. Full size 200ml is £8.50 which is expensive for a shower gel but I may pop this one on my shopping list! Available at www.rituals.com, www.lookfantastic.com and others.

~ 1 x Skinsense Hydranet Intense Concentrate (15ml) this lightweight serum delivers optimum hydration to your skin while helping to shield from external aggressors and giving a revitalised look to your complexion. Enriched with arginine and sodium hyaluronate.

I have not yet tried this product but it seems like something I could definitely add to my skincare routine. I will report back when I have given it a good try. Full size 30ml £24.50-£26 depending on which website you go to, available at www.skinsense.co.uk, www.qvcuk.com and others.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my recommendations, go ahead and try some of them and let me know what you think!
