New Skincare Routine

As you will probably know from reading previous blog posts, I have been on a quest for great skin for some time now. And I think I have finally cracked it, after some really bad times my skin is finally in a good place.

It has definitely been trial and error, with some pretty bad errors! But I have found some great products and treatments and my skin is the best it has been for years. Read my Perfect Skin...Yes Please! blog for info on the Dermaplane Facial that is now a part of my skincare routine.

As for products I have kept a couple of oldie but goodies - Estee Lauder Nutritious Micro Algae Cleansing Jelly and La Roche Posay Ultra Fine Scrub for Sensitive Skin and until it ran out Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser. I would normally re-purchase something that is working but I had a couple of sample size products that I wanted to try and so far they have been working great.

So the new products I have been using have been so good I recommend you try them right now! The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA - available at www.theordinary.com "Matryxl is a trademarked peptide composition which has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is in effect a Hyaluronic Acid delivery system." And best of all it is so affordable at £9.60.

Also from The Ordinary is the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion (this was previously Advanced Retinoid 2%). As per the website "this formulation combines two forms of next-generation retinoid actives which have been shown to achieve a better reduction in signs of ageing than retinol, without irritation." Also extremely affordable at £8.00.

Next is an amazing serum from Antipodes - the Antipodes Worship Serum, is a water based serum that defends against oxidative stress and the elements. It is packed with antioxidants and super fruits. This serum hydrates and helps diffuse early signs of ageing.

It is available at www.lookfantastic.com £34.99 for 30ml.

Last up is Polaar Night Cream, I received a mini tube of this in a beauty box and it is very good. It is a thick consistency with a cooling effect on application, it helps to de-stress and regenerate skin. It contains Rhodemenia Borealia, a unique ingredient that speeds up cell's natural regeneration process. The complexion becomes visibly plumped and radiant.

My morning routine:

>Cleanse with Estee Lauder Nutritious Micro Algae Cleansing Jelly

>Tone with Lacura Healthy Glow Exfoliating Tonic

>Antipodes Worship Serum (apply to face then use jade roller)

>The Ordinary Matryxl

>Ultra Sun SPF30

>Clinique Moisture Surge or SkinSense Hydranet Hydrating Day Cream

My evening routine:

>Clinique Take The Day Off (if wearing makeup)

>La Roche Posay Ultra Fine Scrub for Sensitive Skin (once or twice per week)

>Cleanse with Estee Lauder Nutritious Micro Algae Cleansing Jelly

>Tone with Lacura Healthy Glow Exfoliating Tonic

>Antipodes Worhip Serum (apply to face then use jade roller)

>The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion

>Polaar Night Cream

>Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask, applied under the eyes

Looking at these routines it may seem like a lot of steps, but they don't take very long and the benefits are well worth it. Results aren't visible over night but if you stick to a good skincare routine you will see the benefits sometimes after only a couple of weeks.

The evening routine is especially important if you have been wearing makeup - I used to only use makeup wipes and/or a cleanser/face wash but after I had my Dermaplane facial and saw how much gunk came out of my skin I am very conscious how important it is to clean out my pores as best as I can. I had really terrible skin a few months ago and although this was caused by a few different factors old makeup was probably one of them! However it is equally important to not over-clean your skin. By this I mean don't over do it with the exfoliator or microneedling. I use an unscented SPF on my face and try to use good quality products as much as I can - this does not mean expensive products! - do your own research and find out what works for you.

One last but oh so important thing for your skin - WATER!! make sure you stay hydrated as it is so so important to keep not only your skin but your body healthy.

Thank you for reading my blog and I hope you have enjoyed it and found it useful!
